Paris Wildcats Finish Undefeated in District to Claim Title

Quay Scott

Texarkana – The Paris High Wildcats put themselves in a great position to be District Champions coming into Friday night’s contest with Liberty Eylau. The Wildcats had already clinched a playoff berth with their impressive win against North Lamar.

The only thing left for Coach Bowman’s team was to win District. Winning District would be a major accomplishment in many people’s eyes, especially with how Paris started off the season. The Wildcats opened the 2012 campaign with an embarrassing loss at home to Mt. Pleasant. In that game, the Wildcats were down 50 – 0 in the third quarter and would ultimately lose 57 – 27.

The team from week one was a totally different team from week ten. The Wildcats started off fast Friday night and didn’t look back as they cruised to a 34 – 7 victory over Liberty Eylau. The Wildcats move on to the playoffs and will take on Kaufman next Saturday night at the new Allen Stadium.

Scoring Summary:

Liberty Eylau    0    0   0    7– 7
