FORNEY – It didn’t take long for Kilgore to demonstrate their speed and their ability to score on Friday night. It only took one minute and six seconds before quarterback Cooper Coldiron connected with A.J. Davis on a 57 yard pass for a Kilgore touchdown. The score would put the Bulldogs up 7 – 0 and would send them on their way to a 41 – 14 win against Paris High.
It was a game in which Paris High was dominated in just about every statistical category.

“That’s a tremendous football team we just played tonight,” Coach Bowman told eParisExtra moments after the loss.
It’s hard to be too disappointed in the Wildcats efforts this season, even after a tough loss against Kilgore. For the second year in a row, Paris is District Champions. Last week, against Kaufman, the Wildcats won their first playoff game in 24 years.
“First time back-to-back district champs since ’88. First time to win a playoff game since ’88,” Bowman says. “Yeah, it’s disappointing tonight but at the same time this group has accomplished so much and I’m proud of them.”
“When you get to a place and you try to start building a program,” he says, “There’s going to be growing pains and you can have growing pains and not be in the playoffs, or you can have growing pains and be in the playoffs. We’ve been in it two years in a row, and we’ve played in it a week longer than we did a year ago. It’s a slow process, but we’re going to get there.”
Even after a 41 – 14 loss to Kilgore, it’s quite certain the future looks bright for Paris High under the direction of Coach Bowman.
