Paris and the surrounding Northeast Texas region has 2-3″+ of rain in the forecast, predicted to start falling on Tuesday during the day, and continuing on into Wednesday.
According to the Weather.com, meteorologists predict a 60% chance of PM showers on Tuesday, January 8, and 100% chance of rain on Wednesday. Although the chance drops to 30% on Thursday, there is a slight possibility for isolated thunderstorms during the day.
With the onset of this heavy rain, there is little change in temperatures predicted, as the ‘Polar Jet’ is keeping the cool air bottled up in the Northern US and Canada — making this storm ‘more wet than white’, according to www.weather.com.
On Monday the high is 55 degrees and the low, 37; on Tuesday, with the rain, the high is set for 53 and the low, 46; Wednesday’s high: 55, low: 51.
There will be a slight ‘warm up’ on Friday with the high predicted to be almost 70 degrees and the low, 52. However, this won’t last long, as the temperatures fall back into the fifties on Saturday and another chance for showers at 40%.
Although no official watches or warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service, there is the possibility of Flash Flooding with this heavy rain, so be careful while traveling this week. Keep an eye on the Extra! for weather updates.
