After morning showers, thunderstorms again drop rain in the evening on Wednesday

Although there was less than 40% chance for precipitation after Wednesday morning’s showers, just before the sun completely sat, a ‘rain-filled’ summer thunderstorm again blew through Lamar County.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued by the National Weather Service for our area, due to a storm approaching from the north (Pictured in the graphic on the right — click to enlarge).  The severity of the storm missed Paris to the west, and we mostly received a couple of hours of steady rain.

This was much needed to dampen the already very dry area.  The heat does look to stay, however, but it will be slightly cooler than in the previous days.

Below are the predicted ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ through Sunday, updated very early Thursday morning — more rain looks unlikely (Click to enlarge).  Stay tuned to the Extra! for all your weather updates.
