As we start a new week, heat appears to dominate the area. The National Weather Service predicts a 45% chance of precipitation today, most likely in the afternoon. This won’t change much, the heat index will still be close or over 100 degrees, with temperatures rising towards 95 degrees throughout the day.
Always use precautions if spending time outdoors. Drink plenty of water and stay near shade or shelter to cool off. Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke; these are emergency situations that could very dangerous to your health.
Even with this slight (45%) chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms this afternoon, it appears that the heat will stay in place during the week and only rise towards Friday.
