Children's Advocacy Center's annual Sweetheart Soiree set for Feb. 8
The band, Mars Hill, out of Dallas will provide entertainment for the evening, Crawford’s Hole in the Wall will provide a catered meal, and Buffalo Joe’s Pub will serve complimentary beverages.
There will also be live and silent auctions “where you can find something special for your sweetheart,” an official said.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Paris (CAC) provides essential services to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members as well as bring the professional agencies that investigate child abuse together to form a team that collaborates and shares information so that the child’s best interests are kept in mind.
The CAC provides hope, healing and justice for the children and their families while they go through the criminal justice system. For over 12 years, the CAC of Paris has worked with local law enforcement, Child Protective Services, mental and medical health providers, and prosecutors to help more than 3,000 children.
The CAC provides services to children ages 0-17 regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status in Lamar and Red River Counties.
All services are provided to clients and non-offending family members at no cost. More than half of the CAC annual budget is supported by grants from our state and national organizations as well as from the Texas Office of the attorney general.
The remainder of the funds must be secured locally from United Way, city and county governments, and from the support of the community at large. This is where the Sweetheart Soiree comes in — 100 percent of the funds raised by this event go directly to support CAC programs.
Sponsorships are still available and start at $250. Tickets are $75 each. Anyone interested in buying tickets may call the CAC at 903.784.5787 or come by 711 Pine Bluff for more information.
The CAC’s Sweetheart Soiree provides a place for professionals and community members at large to come together to provide hope and healing to the youngest victims of crime during the darkest moments of their lives.
