Local Rotary Club sponsors Super Bowl chili cook-off
The third annual “Ultimate Super Bowl Tailgate Party and Chili Cook-off”, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Greater Paris, will take place this Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Buffalo Joe’s Pub in Paris.
The chili competition will be open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend and compete in the competition says Rotary member Sherrie White.
Today will be the last day to register your team for the chili cook-off, and the competition is open to all who have paid the $100 entry fee. There will be a $10 cover at the door for the public, which includes all-you-can-eat chili, drink, and dessert.
Votes for the best chili comes from the public, and the first-through-third place winners will receive $500, $250, and $150 for best enthusiastic team, best decorated booth, and best dressed team.
Event sponsorships are still available to businesses in the area, and an ad-book, listing all the event sponsors, will be published and available Sunday.
Funds raised through the chili cook-off will benefit many Rotary programs such as: Healthy Smiles dental program, annual Fourth of July fireworks show, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), student scholarships, student exchange programs, Four Way speech contest, End Polio Now campaign, and more.
