Bri Calabria leads Lady Patriots to 5-4 victory thanks to 8 strikeouts

Prairiland Patriot LogoA superb effort by Bri Calabria carried Lady Patriots to a 5-4 win in seven innings over Palmer on Saturday at Royse City. Bri put together a nice outing. Bri held Palmer hitless over 5 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out eight.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the seventh, with four lead changes. The Lady Patriots took the lead in the seventh inning and held on for the victory. Lady Patriots went up for good on an RBI single by Bri, bringing home Macy Madewell.

It was a good day at the plate for Lady Patriots’ Macy. Macy went 2-4 and scored two runs. She singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

The Palmer pitcher lasted all seven innings, walking three, striking out seven, as she allowed five runs. The Lady Patriots jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Macy got things going for Lady Patriots with a single. Bailey Woodard singled, scoring Chelsea Kimberling and Macy.
