Saturday was a great day for Brandon Dusenberry, as he struck out seven batters to carry the Panthers to a 7-1 victory in Game 2 of their Bi-district playoff series. After defeating Emory/Rains on Friday night, North Lamar took care of business in the second game to ensure they wouldn’t need a third.

The Panthers won thanks to nine hits, including five extra base hits. The Panthers scored three runs in the third on a groundout by Brandon and a two-run single by Jacob Cowling.

Hunter Reeves put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Panthers. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the seventh inning. The Panthers were sparked by Hunter and Brandon, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs. The game was never in doubt after the second, as the Panthers scored two runs on two doubles.

North Lamar moves on to the Area Round against Spring Hill. The games will be played in Mineola on Thursday and Friday at 7:00 p.m. If necessary, Game 3 will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
