North Lamar senior Daniel Gibbons has pitched great ever since he returned from his knee injury. The last two games he pitched in District were both complete games that ended in a 1-0 score. In the first game of their playoff series with Emory/Rains, the big lefty shut down the offense.

Gibbons pitched five innings, allowed no hits, struck out 10 and had three walks. The offense, meanwhile, didn’t take long to get on the board. North Lamar put up six run in the first inning behind a single, a couple walks, and some passed balls. North Lamar would add a couple more in the second while adding one each in the third and fourth innings.

The game was over because of the run-rule after the fifth inning. North Lamar will play game two on Saturday at 12:00 in Sulphur Springs. If necessary, game three will be 30 minutes after that game.
