Madison Morrison came up big at the dish and in the circle, leading North Lamar to a 12-1 win over Kaufman in game 2 of their playoff series on Saturday.

Madison boosted her batting average thanks to a perfect 1-1 day at the plate to pace North Lamar . She singled in the third inning.

Kaufman couldn’t get anything going so long as Madison was pitching. Kaufman managed just two hits off of the Pantherette’s pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out one during her four innings of work.

Seven runs in the first three innings helped North Lamar blow out Kaufman. A wild pitch, a two-run single by Tanna Huie, an RBI single by Lauren Coursey, an error, and an RBI single by Delaney England during the second inning fueled the  Pantherette’s offense early.

North Lamar piled on five more runs in the top of the fifth. A wild pitch scored Bailee Nickerson to start the scoring in the inning.

With the win, North Lamar moves on to the next round of the playoffs, where they will face Bullard. Game 1 is set for Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. Game 2 will be played at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and Game 3 (if necessary) will be 30 minutes after that game. All games will be played in Mineola.
