A tight game was decided in the seventh inning as the North Lamar Pantherettes fell to Atlanta 4-3 in seven innings on Tuesday in Mt. Pleasant.

Lauren Coursey did her part to help the Pantherettes try and defeat Atlanta. However, her efforts weren’t enough as Atlanta scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the game. North Lamar, once again, had trouble with errors as they committed four of them in the game. Only one of Atlanta’s errors was unearned.

Trailing by one in the sixth inning, Coursey hit a two-run homer to put North Lamar up by one. North Lamar would tack on another run in the seventh inning on a Coursey sacrifice fly that scored Tanna Huie. Maddison Morrison got the start at pitcher for Coach Fendley’s team.

With the loss, Atlanta takes the top seed in District 13-3A, while North Lamar takes the second seed. North Lamar will face Kaufman in the first round of the playoffs. Game one will be played Thursday at North Lamar at 7:00. Same two will be played in Kaufman Saturday at 1:00. If game three is necessary, they will play 30 minutes after game two ends on Saturday.
