Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Lauren Coursey could carry North Lamar Pantherettes past Pleasant Grove on Tuesday as North Lamar suffered a 4-3 defeat.

Lauren had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. She homered in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fifth inning.

Lauren looked sharp on the rubber. Pleasant Grove managed just two hits off of Coursey, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during her 3 2/3 innings of work.

The top of the first saw North Lamar Pantherette Varsity take an early lead, 1-0. A solo home run by Lauren started the inning off.

Pleasant Grove survived North Lamar Pantherette Varsity’s surge and put up one run of its own in the seventh. Pleasant Grove scored on an error.
