North Lamar Panthers defeat Atlanta to remain undefeated in District Baseball

It took an extra day and an extra inning but in the end, the North Lamar Panthers were victorious over the Atlanta Rabbits in Atlanta, Texas to remain perfect in District play. After rain postponed the game on Friday, North Lamar took to the field in Atlanta on Saturday.

With the game tied at two after seven innings, the Panthers put up four runs in the eighth inning to secure the 6-2 win. North Lamar senior Daniel Gibbons pitched seven innings, allowing only two runs on two hits. Only one of the runs were earned, however. He also had nine strikeouts and five base on balls.

Chad Box finished 1-3 with three RBI for the Panthers. Braydon Steed went 1-4 with a RBI, while Hunter Reeves also had a RBI for the Panthers. North Lamar will face cross-town rival Paris on Friday at home to try and remain perfect in district.
