Once again, the Paris Lady Cats got off to a strong start in a District 13-3A softball game but couldn’t sustain the momentum Friday night, falling to Pleasant Grove, 20-2, at Lady Cat Field on the Paris Junior High campus.
The start of the game was delayed an hour due to a storm front that briefly rolled through the region. Once coaches prepared the field for play, sophomore Ezaria Harris drove in the game’s first two runs on a first-inning triple to stake Paris to a 2-0 lead. It was all PG after that, however, in a game that ended after 5 innings.
The Lady Cats (0-5 in district) start the second round of league play Friday with the short trip across town to play North Lamar.
