North Lamar Panthers Drop three of four in Celina Baseball Tournament

NL LOGONorth Lamar fell to Lonestar Frisco 6-5 after giving up a late rally. The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead but couldn’t hold the lead as Lonestar scored all six of their runs in the last three innings. Brandon Dusenberry went 2-2 at the plate and had two walks as well. Aaron Edwards, Evan Niblett and Trey Scudder each had one RBI for the Panthers in the loss.

The Panthers lone win came in a 10-7 victory over Gunter. After North Lamar held a 6-3 lead after four, Gunter scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 7-6 victory. North Lamar responded with a four-run bottom of the fifth inning to take back control of the game. Hunter Reeves, Evan Niblett, Braydon Steed, Dylan Thomas and Trey Scudder each had an RBI for the Panthers.

North Lamar  was defeated by Celina 11-2 in game three. Chad Box and Hunter Reeves got the lone RBI for the Panthers. Celina scored three runs in the first, three more in the third and five in the fourth inning to defeat the Panthers.

North Lamar’s final game was a 9-2 loss at the hands of Amarillo. Brandon Dusenberry got the lone RBI for the Panthers in the game. Aaron Edwards went 2-2 at the plate for North Lamar in the loss.
