North Lamar Pantherettes can’t overcome early deficit against Sulphur Springs

NL LOGOLauren Coursey drove in two runs on two hits, including a home run in the sixth inning. Her performance, however, wasn’t enough to lift the Pantherettes over Sulphur Springs on Tuesday night in softball.

Sarah Penrose took the loss for North Lamar Pantherette Varsity. She allowed six runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out four.

Sulphur Springs led the entire game as they scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning. North Lamar scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to close the deficit to 4-2.

Lauren’s two-run homer finished the scoring for North Lamar as they fell to 1-1 on the young season. North Lamar will play New Diana at 12:00 on Thursday afternoon.
