GAME SUMMARY: In the first quarter, Paris scored first on a one-yard run by Cam’Ron Washington to put the Wildcats ahead 6-0. Denison scored two touchdowns to take a 14-6 lead. In the last minute of the first quarter, JaKerrion Brown broke loose for a 65-yard run to cut the lead to 14-12.
In the second quarter, Brown broke loose again, this time for an 80-yard run putting Paris ahead 18-14. Brown got free again right before half, this time on a 53-yard run to put Paris ahead 24-14.
In the third quarter, Ke’Lontre Scott intercepted a Denison pass and returned it 35 yards for a score. Jaylon Smith caught the two-point conversion pass from Sam Cannon to put Paris ahead 32-14. The Paris defense held strong in the third quarter as Kyson Hogue forced a fumble and Breshaun Steward recovered, stopping a Denison drive.
In the fourth quarter, Denison scored twice to pull to within 32-27 before Brown broke free once again, this time for a 15-yard score to put Paris ahead 38-27. Smith intercepted a Denison pass to end any threat of a comeback.
Paris is now 1-1 on the season and will host Argyle next week.
