North Lamar Outlasts Pleasant Grove in Varsity Softball

NL LOGOThe North Lamar Pantherettes took a trip to Pleasant Grove on Tuesday night. Thanks to Home Runs from Heather Hodges and Balee Brown, the Pantherettes walked away with a 14 – 11 victory. Hodges’ Home Run was part of her 4 hits that she got on the night. She also had 3 RBI for North Lamar. North Lamar’s offense wasn’t the problem as they scored their 14 runs on 17 hits. Ashleigh McFatridge also had 4 hits for the Pantherettes.

North Lamar scored 6 runs in the first inning and 5 more in the fifth. However, they allowed Pleasant Grove to score all 11 runs in the first 3 innings. North Lamar also committed 7 errors in the game. However, Coach Jimmy Fendley knows a win is still a win. “We didn’t play well at all. But, I will take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day,” he says.

North Lamar is 2-0 in district so far and will continue to improve on that mark as they travel to Pittsburg on Friday night.
