The North Lamar Pantherettes travelled to Lindale to compete in a tournament this weekend. The Pantherettes finished the softball tournament with 2 wins, 2 losses, and a tie.
North Lamar lost to Central Heights 4 – 3. North Lamar held a 3 – 2 lead going into the final inning before Central Heights scored two runs to win the game. Kayla Igleheart finished the game with one hit and two RBI for the Pantherettes. North Lamar also lost to Mabank 9 – 2. Mabank jumped out to a quick start and scored four runs in the first inning. The deficit would prove too much as North Lamar would only manage five hits in the loss. Haley Hostetler was credited with the only RBI in the game. The other run scored was on an error.
North Lamar played Marshall and finished in a 2 – 2 tie. Jordan Jones got both RBI for the Pantherettes. The two victories came against Sulpher Springs and Lindale. After Sulpher Springs came to North Lamar and defeated the Pantherettes earlier in the season, North Lamar would get some revenge with a 4 – 3 victory. Jordan Jones, Ashleigh McFatridge, Heather Hodges, and Balee Brown all had an RBI for the Pantherettes.
North Lamar defeated Lindale 7 – 2 behind Tanna Huie’s three RBI. Huie had two hits, including a home run. Balee Brown finished with three hits and an RBI, while Delaney England also had three hits and a run scored. England also pitched a complete game for North Lamar. She struck out one, walked one, and gave up 5 hits.
