North Lamar Finished Bonham Tournament With a Pair of Wins

NL LOGOThe North Lamar Panthers baseball team finished the Bonham Tournament  2 – 1. The fourth game for the Panthers was rained out on Saturday. North Lamar opened up the tournament on Thursday with a loss against Krum 12 – 2. Daniel Gibbons took the loss on the mound for the Panthers. Gibbons pitched 3 innings and struck out 5. Trevor Huie went 1 – 2 from the plate. Jake Cowling and Hunter Reeves also finished with a hit each. Gibbons had 1 hit and 1 RBI in the loss.

On Friday, the Panthers played Trenton and walked away with a 8-0 win. Kyle Britt got the win on the mound as he pitched a complete game, six hitter for the Panthers. Britt also struck out seven in the victory. Daniel Gibbons had a big day at the plate as he went 2-3 with a double and a home run. Eric Dickey finished with 2 doubles while Jake Cowling went 2-4 with 3 RBI and had 2 steals.

Saturday, the Panthers beat Frisco Lone Star 7-1. Hunter Reeves pitched a complete game and struck out 9 in the win. Daniel Gibbons went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Kyle Britt finished 2 for 4 with an RBI. Erick Dickey also went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Jake Cowling finished 1 for 3 and Colton Wise was 2 for 3.

The Panthers will be in Lindale on Monday for a double header.
