Pantherettes Take Third Place in Bonham Tournament

NL LOGOThe North Lamar Pantherettes walked away from the Bonham Tournament on Saturday with a third place finish. North Lamar played six games, winning four of them including a pair against Bonham.

North Lamar lost to Denison 5 – 2 and Whitewright 6 – 4. Dalaney England went 2 for 3 with an RBI against Denson, while Haley Hostetler led the way against Whitewright. Hostetler finished 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs for North Lamar.

North Lamar beat Bonham twice during the tournament. The first game they won 9 – 6. Bonham scored all six of their runs during the third inning. Not to be outdone, though, the Pantherettes put up eight runs of their own during the frame. Hostetler went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs in the win. Heather Hodges, Kodi McKnight, Delaney England, Kelsie Allen, and Sarah Penrose each had an RBI.

In the second game, North Lamar won 17 – 6. Tanna Huie finished the game 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs and a home run. Balee Brown went 2 for 5 with 3 RBIs, while Kodi McKnight had 2 RBIs on 2 hits. Haley Hostetler and Ashleigh McFatridge each had 1 RBI as well.

North Lamar also beat S&S 15 – 5 in the tournament. Hostetler finished with 3 RBIs while England and Huie each had 2. McKnight, McFatridge, Hodges, and Brown all had 1. The Panthers scored in all four innings of the game, including an 8 run outburst in the second inning.

The Pantherettes also beat Anna 13 – 3. Brown finished the game with 3 RBIs. England, Hostetler, McFatridge, Kristen Holland, and Huie all chipped in 1 RBI.

North Lamar will be in action again Tuesday night when they travel to Quinlan Ford.
