North Lamar High School swimmers competed this past weekend in Sherman to bring home three district championships and a third place team win in district.
Olivia Stankus individually won the girl’s 100 yard Backstroke district championship with a time of 1:03.73. Ethan Nicholson was named district champion in the 100 yard Butterfly with a time of 58.63 and the 200 yard Individual Medley with a time of 2:10.02.
Other placing in the individual girl’s events were: Stankus – 2nd in the 200 yard Individual Medley; Kathleen Dawson – 5th in the 100 yard Freestyle; Claire Thompson – 4th in the 100 yard Breaststroke; and Ryan Conner – 5th in the boys 100 yard Freestyle.
Girls placing in the 200 yard Medley Relay – 3rd place team of Tori Sullivan, Olivia Stankus, Claire Thompson, and Kathleen Dawson; 200 yard Free Relay – 2nd place team of Claire Thompson, Taylor Reavis, Kathleen Dawson, and Olivia Stankus; and 400 yard Free Relay – 3rd place team of Erin Stone, Tori Sullivan, Taylor Reavis, and Kathleen Dawson.
In the boys relay events, Ryan Conner, Ty Basden, Colton Chumbley, and Ethan Nicholson placed 3rd in the 200 Free Relay and Tyler Stone, Ethan Nicholson, Colton Chumbley and Ryan Conner placed 4th in the 400 Free Relay.
Overall, the girls placed 3rd in district as a team and the boys placed 4th in district. Of those who placed, all qualified for the regional swim meet that will be held in Frisco on February 8th & 9th.
