The North Lamar Varsity came out strong in the second half Tuesday night as they beat Liberty Eylau 4-1. Liberty Eylau scored first and kept the 1-0 lead into the half. North Lamar kept the ball on the Liberty Eylau’s side of the field but had trouble finishing.
“We are making the passes, just got to find the back of the ne,t” Head Coach Johnson said.
In the second half, the Panthers opened with the same pressure and began to find success from working the ball down the field. Abraham Costillo tied the game on a upper right goal. Later, Tanner Bowden crossed the ball from the right to a waiting Derek Walton, who headed the ball for the 2-1 lead. Malahi Porter had the shot of the night with a falling backward kick that flew past the Liberty Eylau goalie. Nathan Aultman finished the scoring with the nights only penalty kick.
“Once we got our head in the game, things start happening. We are getting it together with each game” added Coach Johnson.
North Lamar Boys teams will not have a game till next Tuesday when they travel to Texas High. For full schedule, see the North Lamar website.
