Argyle Eagles spoil Paris homecoming with 41-8 victory over the Wildcats

PARIS – Argyle quarterback Brandon Boyzuick threw for two touchdowns and sophomore running back Nick Ralston ran for two more to lead the Eagles to a 41-8 victory over Paris on Friday at Wildcat Stadium.

Argyle improved to 2-1, and Paris fell to 1-2.

The Eagles led by just 6-0 on field goals of 30 and 34 yards by Cole Hedlund, but turned the game into a rout with four unanswered touchdowns in the second and third quarters.

Ralston scored on a 6-yard run about seven and a half minutes into the second quarter, and Connor Wilson’s 4-yard run made it 21-0 at the half. Ralston scored again on a 4-yard run early in the third quarter, and Boyzuick threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Ian Sadler three minutes later to make it 35-0.

Paris quarterback Keandre Robinson got the Wildcats on the scoreboard with with a 7-yard run at 3:24 remaining in the third quarter.

Boyzuick, who completed 7-of-18 passes for 143 yards, threw his second touchdown pass 5:20 into the fourth quarter, hitting Chance Bode for a 23-yard score.

Robinson completed 6-of-16 passes for 145 yards, with one interception.

Argyle finished with 352 yards – 209 on the ground and 143 in the air. Paris had 145 yards – 85 on the ground and 60 in the air.

Ralston was a workhorse for Argyle, carrying the ball 25 times for 180 yards.

Kenny Mason was Paris’ leading rusher with 40 yards on three carries. He got most of it on one run late in the first half. Robinson carried the ball 30 times for 16 yards, Quay Scott had 12 carries for 24 yards, Quay Henderson one carry for 9 yards, and Khalid Williams minus 1 yard on two carries. Kenterious Perkins had one carry for no gain.

Henderson had half of Robinson’s completions, pulling in three catches for 31 yards. Kadarius Scott had one catch for 21 yards, Scott one catch for 9 yards and Mason one catch for -1 yard.

Bricky Reed and Jordan Williams led Wildcat defenders with 8 tackles apiece. Raheem Palmore had 7 tackles and Jamal Black 6.

But Boyzuick wasn’t sacked at all, and Paris registered only three tackles for losses – one each by Palmore, Black and Kidarius Corprew.

Corwin Cary and Davonta Coulter each recovered a fumble for the Wildcats. Palmore and Travion Gaines each broke up a pass.

After three games, Black is Paris’ leading tackler with 21, followed by Reed and Jordan Williams with 19 each, Palmore with 15, and Jay Garvin with 10.
