Paris Sharks Advance to State

At the Region 6 swim meet in Athens on last Sunday, Paris Sharks continued to shine as all 8 out of their 8 swimmers advanced to the state finals in Waco, July 28d through July 31st. Kimberly Miranda, sister of Coach Robert Miranda soundly won the 100 meter freestyle for the girls 13-14 division. She will also compete in the 100 Individual Medley as the second place finisher. 

Katie Watson won the girls 50 meter back stroke. 

Shelby Wilson advances to state as the winner of the girls 50 meter breast stroke. Shelby finished third in the 50 meter butterfly where she posted a personal best time. 

Keaton and Logan Gibert both advance to state as 1st place winners in the individual medley and and the 50 freestyle.  Logan also took first place in the 25 backstroke and Keyton took first place in the 100 m freestyle. 

Andria Gentry took first plac in the 100 freestyle and also advances as 2nd overall in breaststroke and butterfly. 

Cheyenne Plummer was first in the 13-14 year olds breaststroke event. And last but not least, the team’s youngest qualifier, Emma Fowler, goes to state for her second place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 25 backstroke in the 8 and under division. 

Congratulations to Coach Miranda and his team for their outstanding finishes at regionals and good luck at State.
