Wife Given 5 Years for Killing Husband
42-year-old Kathleen Erskine, of Arthur City, was sentenced to five years in prison for the shooting death of her husband two years ago. In August of 2012 Erskine’s 41 year old husband was found shot inside his home.
Erskine, who was set to go to trial on Monday for murder, accepted a plea deal Wednesday and pled guilty to a lesser manslaughter charge.
Judge Will Baird handed down the 5-year prison sentence for manslaughter. Manslaughter is a second degree felony. In the state of Texas it is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
