Jimmy Don Jones Arrested and Other Open Police Investigations
Jimmy Don Jones, Jr., 43, of Reno was arrested when officers responded to a report of an intoxicated person in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave.
Officers observed Jones leaving the area on a Moped and stopped Jones on a minor traffic violation. Jones was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest charging him with possession of a controlled substance. Jones was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Over the weekend, the Paris Police responded to 335 calls for service and arrested 16 persons.
Several incidents are still under investigation, including the following:
Paris Police responded to a call of an assault in the 200 block of NE 28th St at about 9:12 P.M. on June 7, 2014. Officers located a black male laying on the ground near the intersection of N Collegiate and E Price St. that had numerous cuts and stab wounds. The victim advised that he had been in an altercation with his girlfriend and that she had cut him. The victim was transported to the Paris Regional Medical Center for evaluation. The incident is under investigation.
Shots were fired at a white Suburban in the 700 block of Chisum St at about 2:45 P.M. on June 7, 2014. Paris Police were advised by witnesses that a short black male wearing a red shirt and having “dreadlocks” was seen shooting at the vehicle. The suspect was observed entering a small red vehicle and leaving the scene. The victim in the Suburban was not injured. The incident is under investigation.
At 7:00 P.M. on June 6, 2014 Paris Police responded to a dispute between neighbors at George Wright Homes which ended when a 32 year old female from Arlington, Texas was cut with a knife. The victim was transported to the emergency room but later refused treatment. No arrests have been made at this time. The incident is under investigation.
Paris Police responded to a call of a disturbance in the 400 block of E Kaufman St. at about 2:05 P.M on June 6, 2014. Officers met with the victim in the 500 block of Clarksville St. The 33 year old victim advised that his 28 year old girlfriend had become upset with something that she had read on his facebook page. The victim advised that he packed his belongings and left their residence. After leaving, the suspect started ramming his vehicle with hers and followed the victim to the 500 block of E Kaufman St where the street deadended. As the victim was attempting to turn around, witnesses advised that the suspect rammed his vehicle at least 5 times with her vehicle. The victim was transported to the Emergency Room for evaluation. The incident is under investigation.
