Sheriff detectives arrest two on drug charges
The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office arrested two this week on drug charges after narcotics investigators pulled over a vehicle with a known wanted person occupying the passenger seat, according to Lamar County Sheriff Scott Cass.
Sheriff narcotics detectives initiated the traffic stop in the 10 block of North Main, where they arrested the passenger, 28 year old Johnathan Dickey, for an outstanding traffic warrant. However, further search of Dickey revealed him to be in possession of methamphetamine (less than 1 gram).
Upon search of the vehicle detectives located more methamphetamine hidden inside the driver’s door along with a set of digital scales, the sheriff said. Investigators arrested the driver of the vehicle, Jorge Garcia, 25, for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 1 gram but less than 4 grams).
Garcia and Dickey were both transported to the Lamar County Jail and await arraignment.
