Early morning traffic stop lands Paris man in jail on drug charges
Paris police officers made a drug arrest shortly after 2 a.m. today near the intersection of Bonham Stree and Southwest 15th Street.
After Jermaine Dejuan Sanders, 39, was pulled over on a traffic violation, police officers found him in possession of marijuana, crack cocaine and powder cocaine, police department spokesman Curtis Garrett said.
“Sanders was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance,” Garrett said.
Sanders was taken to police headquarters, then transferred to the Lamar County Jail, where bond was set at $25,000 on the manufacturing/delivering charge and $2,000 on the marijuana possession charge.
Jail records show his address to be in the 700 block of West Kaufman Street.
Garrett said police responded to 100 calls for service over the 24-hour period ending Tuesday morning, resulting in the arrests of six individuals.
