Man robs E-Z Mart at gunpoint, flees on foot
Police were called to a reported armed robbery at the E-Z Mart on Clarksville Street early Tuesday morning, after a man allegedly took money from the register at gunpoint, according to Paris PD Public Information Officer Curtis Garrett.
In the early morning hours — just before 3:30am — on March 12, Paris Police received the call for the robbery in the 3000 block of Clarksville Street. The store attendant reported to officers that an unknown black male, yielding a pistol, took money from the register. The suspect then fled the scene to the west on foot, and according to police, no one was hurt in the robbery.
The incident is under investigation.
Also on Monday, 28-year-old Rodrick Dontay Dawson, of Paris, was arrested without incident in the 100 block of Price Circle on two felony warrants out of the Lamar County Sheriff’s Department. One warrant was for Assault – Family Violence, while the other was a Motion to Revoke his probation for the Assault – Family Violence charge.
According to Officer Garrett, on Monday, March 11, Paris Police responded to 106 calls for service while arresting 7 persons. There were also three assaults, one burglary of a residence, and one criminal trespassing reported, which remain under investigation.
