Busy weekend for Paris Police Officers; Paris PD Press Release - March 4 - 5
On March 02, 2013, Paris Police responded to the PRMC North ER in reference to a person that had been stabbed, according to Paris PD Public Information Officer Curtis Garrett. The victim advised that he had been attacked by an unknown person in the 2900 block of Clarksville Street. He also told police that he struggled with the assailant before being stabbed. The victim did not know the assailant, nor would he give any information on who brought him to the hospital for medical treatment. The incident is under investigation.
On March 02, 2013, it was reported to Police that a 14-year-old female advised her mother that she may be pregnant. The young female stated that her ex-boyfriend had forced her to have sex with him on February 23, 2013, while at Gene’s Flea Market. The incident is under investigation.
While investigating an accident in the 5900 block of Bonham St., Paris Police Officers had to locate one of the drivers involved in the accident that had run off into a wooded area. The Hispanic driver refused to give officers his name. Arrested was 42 year old Ismael Martinez Tapia of Bonham, Texas. He was charged with a felony driving while intoxicated when it was found that he had been previously convicted twice for driving while intoxicated . Upon further investigation, it was found that the driver was wanted on a felony charge from another state.
Another incident being investigated that happened over the weekend was on March 03, 2013, when Paris Police met with two victims at the Police Department who reported that both had been assaulted by other juvenile males on the Trail de Paris.
Over the weekend, police responded to 277 calls for service and arrested 16 persons.
Paris Police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of E Provine Street on Monday, after observing the driver not wearing a seat belt. Officers found that the vehicle was occupied by 5 persons.
When officers observed marijuana laying in the drivers seat, a search was conducted where more marijuana was located, along with several grams of crack cocaine, according to Officer Garrett.
Arrested from the vehicle were 27-year-old Nicodemus Nino Banda, 26-year-old Darius Johnson, 32-year-old Billy Charles Carey, and 21-year-old Charles Edward Johnson, IV, all of Paris, and 30-year-old Tyrone Deshan Foreman of Dallas.
Paris Police responded to 100 calls for service and arrested 11 persons on Monday, March 4, 2013.
