Woman charged with murder in weekend stabbing death

After police investigation, murder charges were filed against Angela Villines, accused of stabbing a man in the chest on Saturday, according to Paris Police Chief, Bob Hundley.

Just before 5 p.m., the Paris Police Department received a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of Hearon St.  When officers arrived, they found a dead man, identified as James Michael Sims, 45, in the backyard of a residence.

A witness identified Angela Villines as the person who stabbed Sims in the chest. Villines was not at the scene when police officers arrived.

Detectives investigated the crime scene, as other officers began searching for Villines, who was reported to be on foot.

Just before 9 p.m., Villines was located by police at an apartment complex in southwest Paris. Officers arrested her on unrelated Paris municipal court warrants.

After talking with crime scene investigators, Villines was also booked on murder charges.

The deceased was reported to be the boyfriend of the suspect’s mother.  According to Hundley, at this stage of the investigation, it is known that Villines and Sims were quarreling, but it is not known what the argument was about.
