Meghan Scott led Paris with 11 points. Shanice Vaughan added 7 points, Karmyn Jackson and Ashley Johnson 6, Kelsye Ewings and Rickeya Williams 4, Brea Castro-Gambrell 2, and Shanice Hill 1.

“It was close in the beginning, but we gave up some offensive rebounds which in time led to open 3’s, and they shot well from outside,” PJC head coach Sean LeBeauf said.

“The first few minutes, they couldn’t buy one,” he said, referring to 3-pointers.

“But with that 6-6 girl in the post, they started getting those offensive rebounds and that opened it up for them. They hit double-digit 3-pointers against us tonight, and then in the second half we began fouling and they shot a lot more free throws than we did.”

Murray State led 29-17 at the half.

Next weekend, they’ll play in the Jacksonville Classic. PJC will play McClennan College on Friday and Mountain View CC on Saturday.
