It was a gorgeous day for this year’s Festival of Pumpkins. According to Main Street coordinator Cheri Bedford, ” Everything was a huge success thanks to the many wonderful volunteers, sponsors, and team of city employees. Many people Commented that the Plaza was as beautiful as they had ever seen it, and it seemed like the largest crowd they had ever seen, too.”
All the kids activities were a huge success thanks to Paris Garden Study Club and the other volunteers and sponsors. All the contests were a huge draw. The blue ribbon pumpkin baking had creative pumpkin foods for judging. The new ice cream freeze off was a huge success as were annual crowd favorites such as pumpkin decorating and costume contest, and the pet activities as well.
Mindy Moree, Executive Director of the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce added, “With great weather and all the beautiful fall decorations that created such a wonderful festival atmosphere, people of all ages where able to enjoy the variety of venues offered on Saturday. This created such an excitement that will only help build the momentum for future events downtown. Kudos to the Main Street Department and the City of Paris as well as all the downtown merchants who helped to make the event a success.
