City council OK's two tax incentive packages for Campbell Soup
By unanimous vote, the Paris City Council on Monday approved two economic incentive agreement between the Paris Economic Development Corporation and Campbell Soup.
The PEDC forwarded to the council two incentive agreements — $100,000 for a product storage facility and a solar array; and $500,000 for a new single-service juice manufacturing line to include employee training and cash for a $25 million investment, 50 new jo0bs and job retention.
The latter project is for technology and jobs transferred to Paris from a plant that Campbell Soup shut down in Sacramento, Calif.
Ray Oldach, manager of the plant, told the council, “The support of your community has been noted by the company.”
