Steve Gilbert, executive director of the Paris Economic Development Corporation, will report to the PEDC board today on his review of travel expenses for the last three years.
In the past two weeks, Mayor AJ Hashmi, PEDC President Rebecca Clifford and former city councilman Bill Strathern have leveled strong criticism at Gilbert for exorbitant and poorly documented expenses as he sought to bring new industry to Paris.
“I’m accountable to the PEDC board, and we are working together to continue our track record of positive results,” Gilbert said last week.
Gilbert’s remarks near the start of today’s 3 p.m. meeting at the Depot Community Room adjacent to PEDC offices will be sandwiched by another round of presentations by Clifford and Strathern.
Clifford will also give a report on Paris Junior College taking over the business incubator.
Also on the PEDC agenda:
The council will close with an executive session to discuss economic development prospects.
