RegionalCare Hospital Partners agrees to fund and build hospital in Arizona

RegionalCare Hospital Partners, which owns Paris Regional Medical Center , has announced it has signed a letter of intent to partner with another group for a long-term hospital lease and the development of a new hospital in southern Arizona.

RegionalCareRegionalCare  has agreed to fund, develop and construct a new, technologically advanced 100-bed hospital over the next three years on the east campus of Sierra Vista Regional Health Center in Sierra Vista, Ariz.

Sierra Vista, a city with a population of about 44,000, is part of the Sierra Vista-Douglas Metropolitan Area, 75 miles southeast of Tucson.  It is the home of Fort Huachuca.

SVRHC now operates an 88-bed acute care hospital with an outpatient surgery and imaging center. The hospital also has two outpatient rehabilitation offices and an outpatient lab/infusion/hospice center in Sierra Vista and operates three outpatient clinics in Sonoita, Douglas and Tombstone.

The agreement, which is scheduled to close on or about April 30, 2013, provides the resources VRHC requires to enhance and expand the medical services available within Southern Arizona. This ensures that well into the future, local residents can continue to obtain high quality healthcare close to home.

In addition to providing funding for the new hospital, the partnership will give SVRHC access to the resources of a system of hospitals, including competitive pricing on supplies, equipment and other purchased services.

RegionalCare Hospital Partners was founded in 2009 with a $300 million investment from Warburg Pincus. RegionalCare Hospital Partners merged with Essent Healthcare in 2011 and now owns and operates seven non-urban hospitals in six states. It is headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn

In addition to Paris, the RegionalCare hospitals are in Florence, Ala.; Muscle Shoals, Ala.; Ottumwa, Iowa; Wilmington, Ohio; Sharon, Conn.; and Waynesburg, Pa.
