Paris ISD’s Future Problem Solving Program brings home international wins
Paris students won an international grand championship, three first place awards and one second place award at the International Conference at Iowa State University. They are coached by Debb Fleming, Sandra Strom and Dr. Janet Dickey.
Team Problem Solvers (from left) Evan de la Garza, Zachery Nation, Madeline Petrikas, and Austin Whitaker won first place out of 54 teams in the Junior Division.
Madeline Petrikas won Grand Champion (Project H.O.P.E.) in Individual Community Problem Solving Junior Division. Shikha Prakash’s Operation: Save Your Skin placed second in the senior division.
Operation Tobacco Know won first place in community problem solving. They were represented by (from left) Brianna Rogers, Keller Stripland, Evan de la Garza, Kaitlynn Hutchings, Taylor White and Gavin Hollje. They placed sixth in presentation of action plan.
Molly Jackson won first place with her team of scenario writers.
