PHS HOSA students compete well, advance to state competition

Paris High School students competed on Feb. 28 at the Area III Spring Leadership Conference of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) at Pearce High School in Richardson, TX.

All that placed in the top three positions at Area advance to the state HOSA Conference slated for March 27-29 in San Antonio.

Makayla McCullen, a Paris High School freshman, placed third in Medical Reading. In her event, she read five books related to health care and leadership and took a written test.

Tenisha Hampton, a Paris High School junior, placed 4th in Cultural Diversity in Healthcare.  She is the runner up for the state competition and advances if any of the top three winners are unable to compete.

Winners that place first, second, or third at the state competition advance to nationals in Orlando, Florida, June 25-28, 2014.
