PHS Choir Students Win 17 Medals at UIL Event
Paris High choir students won 17 medals, including 9 gold, at the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest at Texas A&M-Commerce on Feb. 20.
Junior Dylan Candelora earned two gold medals, awarded for a Superior rating on a “difficult” rated solo, including a gold for a piano solo. Other gold medalists were sophomores Quinn Dillard and Juan Flores, junior Molly Jackson, and seniors Crissiana Brown, Victoria Davis, Laura Medina, and Natalie Morrison.
Silver medals were awarded for a Superior rating on an “intermediate” level selection, and bronze medals were given for Superior on a “beginning” level piece.
The Paris High choir program is directed by Jan Blize who is assisted by Hunter Sitz and accompanied by Dottie Billman.
