Paris High Seniors take top honors in Air Force essay contest

PHSParis High School seniors Caitlin Nance (right) and Cody Redus (left) placed first and third in the Air Force Association Northeast Texas Chapter, Earle North Parker essay contest. Both will be honored at a dinner and recognition ceremony at Texas A&M University—Commerce. 

Nance received a scholarship award of $1,000 and they will receive Congressional recognition at the AFA Northeast Chapter banquet at Texas A&M-Commerce.  Their essays also automatically advance to the state AFA contest. 

Redus is the son of Laurie and Mike Redus and is in Connie Dodd’s English IV Dual Credit Class.  Nance is the daughter of Gina and Keith Nance and is in Sandra Strom’s AP English IV class. 

The Earl North Parker Essay program is a statewide essay contest sponsored by the Air Force Association of Texas. The contest is open to all high school seniors in the state of Texas and provides an opportunity for students from public and private high schools to compete for cash awards.
