The North Lamar Pantherettes softball season ended on Saturday as they dropped a 6-0 decision to Bullard in Game 2 of their Area Round Playoffs. Bullard had already won 3-2 on Thursday night. North Lamar, needing a win to stave off elimination could not figure out the Lady Panthers’ pitcher.

Coco Springer only allowed three hits in the seven innings of work. The big key was that she struck out 11 batters in the win. This ¬†was on the heels of her striking out nine on Thursday. Coach Fendley’s team could not figure Springer out and it cost them.

On the other side of the plate, the Bullard offense was too much for the Pantherettes defense. Bullard scord one in the second, three in the third and two more in the fifth inning. Fendley knew coming into the series, his team would have to limit their offensive production. For the season Bullard had only allowed 37 runs and only nine in their 12 district games. In order to beat this team, North Lamar would have to limit the offense. It turned out that one run was enough as Springer shut down the high-powered offense.
