Panthers defeat Atlanta in pitching duel to remain atop the District
If you’re a fan of pitching, then you enjoyed Friday’s game against the North Lamar Panthers and the Atlanta Rabbits. Daniel Gibbons pitched a four-hit shutout as the Panthers defeated Atlanta 1-0 to remain tied at the top of district 13-3A.
Daniel went the distance, allowing four hits, and striking out 10 in the process. The only run of the game came in the fourth inning as Brandon Dusenberry drove in Aaron Edwards. That one run was all Gibbons needed as he mowed through the lineup.
With the win, North Lamar remains tied with Pleasant Grove at 6-2. North Lamar will finish district play this week as they travel to Paris on Tuesday and then host Pleasant Grove on Friday night.
