North Lamar Pantherettes lose final district game of season
The North Lamar Pantherettes had trouble all night with the rise-ball that Atlanta pitcher Alaina Oliver pitched. North Lamar only managed four hits as they fell 7-2 on Senior Night.
They only runs North Lamar could manage was a Tanna Huie two-run homer over the left filed fence in the fifth inning. Despite giving up seven runs, the Pantherette pitching was good. Freshman Madison Morrison pitched 4.2 innings, allowing three runs and striking out one. Only one of the three runs, however, were earned as North Lamar finished the game with four errors.
Lauren Coursey came in and pitched 2.1 innings. Coursey allowed four runs to score but only one was earned due to the Pantherette errors. With the loss, North Lamar finished tied with Atlanta at the top of District with a 8-2 record. The two teams will meet Monday night in Mt. Pleasant to determine who gets the top seed in the playoffs. The game is set for 6:00 p.m.
