The North Lamar Panthers travelled to Sherman this past weekend to compete in the Sherman Tournament. The Panthers wound up winning the first game and the last two but were defeated in the middle three games. Here is a breakdown of the Tournament games:

North Lamar 12 – John Paul 0

Chad Box pitched all four innings for the Panthers and only gave up one hit as the Panthers jumped all over John Paul. North Lamar used an eight run fourth inning to cap off the victory. Aaron Edwards and Trey Scudder both finished with two RBI in the game.

Lake Dallas 4 – North Lamar 3

Lake Dallas scored two runs in the third inning and two more in the fifth as they held on to defeat the North Lamar Panthers. Aaron Edwards went 2-3 at the plate Tyler Carter had an RBI and Brandon Dusenberry drove in two more for the Panthers but in the end it wasn’t enough.

Grandbury 8 – North Lamar 7

The Panthers couldn’t overcome a six-run outburst from Grandbury in the fourth inning. The Panthers scored three runs in the second and four more in the fourth but it wasn’t quite enough. Hunter Reeves went 2-3 and drove in three RBI for North Lamar. Braydon Steed went 2-4 at the plate and added two RBI for North Lamar.

Richardson 13 – North Lamar 3

Richardson scored at least once in all four innings of the game and it proved to be too much for the Panthers. Richardson scored nine runs in the second inning alone. All three of North Lamar’s runs came in the third inning as Jacob Cowling cleared the bases with a three-run single. That was all they could manage though.

North Lamar 8 – Sherman 3

Brandon Dusenberry powered his way through the Sherman lineup as he struck out 11 batters and only gave up four hits. He also didn’t allow an earned run in the game. He also helped his cause at the plate as he drove in four RBI on a double and a home run.

North Lamar 9 – Sherman 1

Kevin Dickey and Ty Jones combined for a two-hitter against Sherman in a 9-1 victory. Dickey struck out eight batters and Jones added two of his own. Trey Scudder and Aaron Edwards both had two RBI for the Panthers in the victory.
