Panther swimmers finish season with individual championships
Paris, TX – Two North Lamar swimmers, Ethan Nicholson and Olivia Stankus, earned district championships in their individual events and qualified for region after competing at the district meet. In the boys competitions, Nicholson was top swimmer in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:04:84 and the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 55.69. Olivia Stankus was first in the girls 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10:11. Other individuals who qualified for region were Claire Thompson in the 100 yard breaststroke and Ryan Conner in the 100 yard freestyle. All of North Lamar’s relay swim teams qualified and competed at the regional meet on February 7-8 in Frisco.
Individual and team season results are:
Ethan Nicholson finished 6th at region in both the 200 yard individual medley and the 100
Olivia Stankus finished 6th at region in both the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 yard
Girls Medley Relay team of Tori Sullivan, Claire Thompson, Kathleen Dawson, and Olivia
Stankus placed 4th at district; 11th at region.
200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Claire Thompson, Taylor Reavis, Tori Sullivan, and
Kathleen Dawson placed 4th at district; 14th at region.
Girls’ 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Claire Thomspon, Erin Stone, Olivia Stankus,
and Kathleen Dawson placed 3rd in district;
Boys’ Relay team members of Ryan Conner, Paul Bayer, Ethan Nicholson, and Ty Basden
place 4th at district; 16th at region.
200 yard freestyle team of Ty Basden, Josh French, Chase Allen, and Ryan Conner placed
4th at district;
400 yard freestyle relay team of Ty Basden, Kevin Dawson, Ryan Conner, and Ethan
Nicholson placed 2nd at district; Hunter Love joined Basden, Dawson and Nicholson
to finish 16th at region.
The North Lamar female swimmers finished the 2013-2014 swim season ranked 14th out of 26 regional teams while the young men finished 18th out of 25 teams.
Other members of the 2013-2014 North Lamar swim team are: Jamie Allen, Elisha Skidmore, Chase Perry, Udanti Rendsland, and Matthew Rethman. The team is coached by Terry Price.
