The North Lamar Boys Soccer Team Loses a Tough Match to Sulphur Springs

NL LOGONorth Lamar fell once again, after a great first half, against Sulphur Springs, 5-0. Playing to a 0-0 first half, the Panthers had the Sulphur Springs Wildcats running around. However, the second half portrayed how the season has been for NL. Finishing on goal has haunted NL all year.

“We had our chances to score. We have to send that ball to the back of the net,” related Head Coach Lance Johnson. We kept them off their game the first half, but let them back in the second.”

North Lamar finishes first half of district at 0-3-1, but still have chance at the playoffs.

“Our last four district games are home games. If we can get some points in the second half of district, we still have shot at the playoffs,” commented Coach Johnson.

North Lamar Junior Varsity lost as well to Sulphur Springs, 4-0. Coach Caldwell was once again proud of the effort.

“This JV team has not played a match in over a week. We had a great first half, 1-0, but starting feeling the effects of not being on the field  in a while the second half.”

Both teams will be in action this Saturday, March 2nd at RL Maddox Stadium. The Panthers open the second half of district while hosting Paris High. Games start at 11am.
