North Lamar Soccer Season has Begun

NL LOGONorth Lamar Boys Soccer has begun. The 2013 season has started with lot of promise. Although 0-5 at
this moment, the Varsity Boys are taking each game as a step to improve to make a run to the playoffs
during district. With 15 returning Varsity players and a good group of Junior Varsity players coming up, Head Coach
Lance Johnson is looking forward to an exciting season.

“Each game and each practice we are learning the game and improving,” says Johnson. “That is what pre-season is about.”

The season started on Jan. 4th and will go thru March 22nd. This year brought a couple of new teams to the
schedule as North Lamar played Terrell for the first time and will travel to Wylie in February. District play will
begin on Monday, Feb. 11th against Paris. North Lamar will work hard to make the playoffs this year. The Panthers missed the playoffs last year after three straight years of post season play.

“Both teams are looking good. We have some motivated soccer guys on both teams. They work hard to learn and love the game. Soccer rules,” says Coach Johnson.

Both North Lamar teams will be in action this weekend in the Kings Trophy Tournament at Paris and
NL. For full season schedule, check the North Lamar website.
