The 8th grade Gold football team lost to Liberty Eylau 28-14. Offensively, the Panthers threw for 100 yards. Javier Smith completed two passes: one to Maverick Priest for 15 yards and the other to Menderiz Gray for a 50 yard touchdown. Priest had another reception from Sam Cowling for 35 yards. Gray also scored on a two yard run. Jake Stewart caught a two-point conversion pass from Cowling. Defensively, Javon Franklin caused a fumble that Gray recovered. Brantavis Nickerson, Brandon Halliday, and Gray each had a tackle for a loss. The Panthers play next Thursday at home against Atlanta.
